Diana Sister. Debera called me Diane or baby sister November 17, 2012

Debera is 4 years older than me, and i remember growing up she seem to be much older than i was, she was always so mature for her age, she was always helping around the house doing her chores, and cooking, being responsible with her home work singing in the choir at Garfield High School, going to Church and singing in the Church Choir, never giving my parents any grief, i'm so thankful that she never beat me up, never laid a hand on me, Debera and i have never not once had a arguement or raised our voices at each other, there were times when we didnt agree on everything, but we never disrespected each other. I will miss her Love, her willingness to listen and help solve problems, her honesty her willingness to give her time, her effort, and money, she was always looking for ways to help. I will truely miss my big Sister!!! She was such a wonderful Sister!!!
Leonardo Harrell Old School Movies November 17, 2012

Back in the day before there were Blu-Rays, DVDs, or even VHS, Aunt Debera used to rent film projectors and go find these films on these hugre reels... just like the movie theaters use.
She would put a white sheet on the wall with thumb tacks, make popcorn in a big iron pot, turn out the lights and we would have movie night!
Now remember, VCRs didn't really take off until 15-20 years later!
Those nights were magic.

I only knew Debera for a short period of time, but her kindness and her genuine compassion for those around her was evident from the very first time we met.  She always took an active interest in what was going on in my life, and would always ask for updates on my children and my wife.  When I was going through some personal hardships Debera offered support and prayer, which is not something most people will do for a co-worker.  She lived in her faith, but was never judgemental of others.  Instead she showed them the love and compassion that her faith had taught her.  I am truly blessed to have met Debera and to have learned so much from her.  She was a shining beacon of love, and she will be missed.  My thoughts and my prayers are with her family.

I worked with Debera for the past few years and she had a smile and laugh that I will never forget.  She always had a positive attitude and that really helped myself and others, when things were not going so well.  We often had conversations about our lives outside of work, and she would say such kind words.  She always let me know that I was a bright young man and that I was a great father.  Debera, you do not know how much that meant to me.  Thank you for all the memories and you will truly be missed.  Your laugh and smile will never be forgotten.

I worked with Debra in security at Terminal 5, Port of Seattle, for a number of years. She was in the lead position for swing shift several times a week. I remember her as kind and of service to others, possessing a tasteful sense of humor. She was conscientious about her work and serious when necessary. Often in our free time, there would be discussions and sharing about gardening, baking, the wild life along the river and shoreline, and other topics of interest. Once she came to the “Art in the Garden” festival in my neighborhood that I had told her about. I was surprised by that. She was, as some would say, “a wise and old soul”. She will be greatly missed.
